Knitting warp knitting industry: extending the industrial chain to enhance the competitiveness of the industry

Background and status quo: The knitting industry in Changle City is mainly the earliest warp knitting industry. Knitting warp knitting is the earliest and mature traditional industry in Changle textile industry. It is also the advantageous industry of Changle City, with an annual output of fabrics and laces. The products are 500,000 tons, the warp knitting products account for 3/5 of the national market share, and the lace products account for 2/5 of the national market. Jinfeng Town won the honorary title of “China Warp Knitting Town” in 2006. Matsushita Town was awarded the title of “China Lace Famous Town” in 2006. There are 774 registered warp knitting enterprises in Changle City, employing more than 30,000 people. In 2011, there were 143 warp knitting enterprises above designated size, achieving an output value of 11.674 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 49.8%. Among them, 33 enterprises had an output value of over 100 million yuan, and enterprises below the scale realized an output value of 6 billion yuan. At present, there are more than 10,000 warp knitting machines in Changle warp knitting industry. The main products include all kinds of warp knitted fabrics, mesh fabrics, swimwear fabrics, shoe materials, home textile decorative fabrics, laces and underwear fabrics. The product grade of Changle warp knitting industry is developing towards high-end and high value-added, and the production enterprises are developing towards group, and the industry is developing towards clustering and agglomeration.

In recent years, Changle City has strongly supported the construction of warp knitting industrial parks, paving the way for enterprises to expand production scale.
